Governments and Politics in Russia and the Post-Soviet Region

This text is different from other texts for this course in the sense that most post-Soviet political science texts either focus only on Russia or provide only a cursory view of other governments in the region. This text includes in-depth country studies of Ukraine, Georgia, Lithuania and Uzbekistan. In addition, introductory chapters provide historical overviews of the Tsarist and Soviet periods, together with summaries of the basic principles of socialist and communist philosophies.
