A Course in Number Theory

This textbook, aimed at undergraduate mathematicians, covers the main topics in number theory; that is properties of ordinary numbers and fractions. Many modern aspects are covered, including (briefly) the latest work on Fermat's last theorem. Both elementary and more advanced topics are included, with large problem sections and hints on their solution. The current reprinting of this edition not only includes some minor corrections but also an extra 50 pages containing the latest
information on some conjectures, some new facts (for instance about Mersenne primes), new proofs and problems as well as a number of minor corrections.
